Mental Health Coalition welcomes changes to bill
The recently formed Mental Health Coalition has welcomed changes to the Mental Health Bill that were put before MPs in the House of Commons last month.  The Coalition, formed in May by the RCN and other key organisations representing mental health practitioners, said it was now ‘positive’ about the legislation’s progress as it moved back for consideration by the House of Lords.

Good Practice guidelines on safety due to be released
Thousands of reports on incidents in which patients’ safety has been put at risk are being analysed and will lead to the release of good practice guidelines.  This will have an impact on both our inpatient and community units and all Units will have to undergo a safety check in line with the new guidelines
